{"id":1247,"date":"2011-01-02T09:25:42","date_gmt":"2011-01-02T07:25:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aaoproject.org\/?p=1247"},"modified":"2015-05-09T18:30:19","modified_gmt":"2015-05-09T15:30:19","slug":"against-all-odds-a-mechanism-that-produces-thoughts-ideas-and-actions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aaoproject.org\/?p=1247","title":{"rendered":"Against All Odds is a mechanism that produces thoughts, ideas and actions, abbreviated to AAO."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Against All Odds is a mechanism that produces thoughts, ideas and actions<\/strong>, abbreviated to <strong>AAO<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Specifically, AAO is:<br \/>\n<strong>first, a \u2018think-tank\u2019<\/strong>: it promotes debate on occurring issues which need to be addressed within the framework of Architecture (in its wider understanding as spatial practice) regarding society, ecology and culture.<br \/>\n<strong>second, a \u2018disseminator of ideas<\/strong>\u2019: it raises public awareness on the value of Architecture (as spatial practice) in resolving significant current issues, as well as in offering a podium for the promotion of projects that address its main philosophy.<br \/>\n<strong>third, a \u2018do-tank\u2019<\/strong>: it sets targets for the fulfillment of which it creates partnership models with organizations, educational institutions and designers, becoming their strategic partner.<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1354 alignnone\" title=\"howdoesitworknewsmall\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/aaoproject.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/howdoesitworknewsmall.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"444\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aaoproject.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/howdoesitworknewsmall.jpg 500w, https:\/\/aaoproject.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/howdoesitworknewsmall-255x226.jpg 255w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>AAO restructures its form and suggests a different answer depending on the issue it has chosen to address.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>AAO\u2019s scope of activities:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Above all, Against All Odds aims to detect and investigate the issue through which a <strong>solution to<\/strong> <strong>contemporary social, ecological<\/strong> and <strong>cultural problems<\/strong> is derived; a <strong>solution which is related to Architecture either in the existing framework of the discipline or through a necessary transformation within it<\/strong>. This is the object of research and, therefore, the subject matter of Against All Odds.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, AAO project aims to<strong> inform and raise public awareness as to the function and positive effect of Architecture for the benefit of society as a whole<\/strong>.
